I’m trying to save money. Is a new home right for me?

While the financial situation of each person is different, there are some compelling financial reasons to choose a new home.

Personalization is one area where you can save some money. While it is great to add all the exciting features available, we like to make sure all of our homes are high quality. This means that even the most basic model has everything you need to feel comfortable and to enjoy your living experience. We use solid craftsmanship and reliable materials as a rule. So even if you buy the most inexpensive home we offer, it will be something you can depend on for many, many years.

Maintenance and repair is another area where buying new can really save in costs. Everything in your new home will be new – meaning it should last for years before needing replacement. As long as you take care of basic maintenance needs, everything in your home should remain reliable far into the future.

Warranty is also a cost consideration. Each of our homes comes with a 2-10 warranty – 2 years of comprehensive warranty, and 10 years for structural issues. This alone can save you money. Things do go wrong in a home, even a new one. With our warranty, you will not have to worry about covering such costs for some time.

We use Pex piping in our homes. This is because Pex actually offers better performance than copper. Copper has a shorter life expectancy due to corrosion, making Pex a better choice when building new homes.

Our standard insulation options include batts in walls and blown insulation in the attic. These insulation choices ensure that your home remains warm in winter and cool in summer. However, you do have the option to upgrade your insulation when you design your home. The higher quality insulation you choose, the more efficiency you can expect from your home. This can help reduce your energy bills and add value to your home.

A heat pump is a unit that heats and cools the home. Heat pumps can offer an energy efficient way to control the temperature. The pump transfers heat from the air or the ground surrounding your home to generate warmth, and it can reverse the process to cool the home. In moderate climates, heat pumps can be preferable to standard furnaces and air conditioners, especially if you are concerned with energy efficiency.

All of our homes come standard with a 14 Seer unit installed. However, if you are interested in upgrading, you do have this option. Our sales agents can explain what HVAC options are available.

We work hard to deliver the highest quality homes we can. But even the best craftsmanship and materials can occasionally have defects. Our customer service department is available to handle all warranty issues for the initial warranty period. If something breaks, or you notice a problem, you can contact us and let us know. We are committed to customer satisfaction, and will do our best to address all concerns that fall under warranty.

All of our homes come with a 2-10 warranty. This means the home is fully covered for 2 years, and covered for a full 10 years for structural issues. Our customer service for warranty issues is excellent. If you have a problem that falls under warranty, we will address it quickly and thoroughly.

This is one of the great advantages to buying a new home from us. When you buy an older home, you rarely get any kind of warranty to cover unexpected problems. When something breaks, you are left with the bill. With one of our new homes and our warranty, you can relax and enjoy your new home and all the comforts it includes.

Because our homes are so customizable, the cost of personalization can vary considerably. We advise buyers to first discuss their budget with their lender. Once you have a budget in hand, you can come meet with one of our sales agents. He or she can explain various customization options and their cost. Or, you can go straight to the design room and get started personalizing your home. You will know how much you can spend because you will have already cleared it with your lender.

All builder’s are required to include a 1 year warranty. Additionally, we include a 2/10 warranty which includes a 2 year comprehensive warranty and a 10 year structural warranty, as well as customer service for the initial period of the warranty. We strive to provide the same level of service even after you close your home. This means that if you do have a problem, we will fix it for you. This is something you do not get when you buy an older home.

One of the key benefits to purchasing a home from us is your ability to customize the final product. You can choose both structural options and design options before we start building. We usually have model homes available where you can view a finished home. These model homes have been colorized by a colorization specialist, so you can see just how appealing a finished home can look.

When you decide to purchase a home from us, one of our sales agents will take you to our design center. Here, you can choose from a wide variety of personalization options. This means that the home you purchase will be exactly what you want.

You may also have the option of purchasing a quick move-in (spec) home. Depending on the construction status of a quick move-ins move, personalized options may or may not be selected.

With most homes, construction begins around 30-45 days after purchase.

Not every buyer has perfect credit. Fortunately, many lenders offer programs to help buyers with credit building and credit repair. If you are worried about how your credit will affect your ability to get a loan, we recommend discussing this with your preferred lender.

Keep in mind, not everyone who buys one of our homes has perfect credit. Plenty of buyers manage to purchase the perfect home for their needs by working with the right lender.

We tell our clients that a typical build usually ranges from 4 to 6 months, but can be longer.

The time it takes to build a new home depends on a variety of factors, including the floor plan you choose, your customization options, the building permit process and other external factors like the weather.

The larger the home and the more personalized it is, the longer it can take to build. Obtaining a building permit can also take some time, and is something we do not have any control over. Weather can make building difficult and/or hazardous. With so many unknowns, it is difficult to give an exact completion time. This is why we give a date range for completion, as opposed to a specific day.

Once you make your final decision on the home you are buying and the features you want it to include, we can give you a more accurate estimate on the time to completion.
